SAIDS joins the global fight against cancer with an impactful awareness session led by medical experts.  

As part of the global Pink October initiative to promote breast cancer awareness, a special Cancer Awareness Session was organized at SAIDS (Sree Anjaneya Institute of Dental Sciences) on October 13, 2025. The event aimed at educating both faculty members and students about the importance of early detection, prevention strategies, and the latest advancements in cancer care.

The session was graced by Dr. Fathima Thasneem, a distinguished specialist in Medical Oncology from Malabar Medical College (MMC), and Mr. Vikas, PRO.

Dr. Thasneem delivered a comprehensive presentation on the rising incidence of breast cancer in India, emphasizing the importance of regular self-examinations and timely screenings. She also shared insights into advancements in cancer treatment, lifestyle modifications for prevention, and addressed common myths surrounding cancer.

Mr. Vikas engaged the audience with an interactive talk focusing on cancer awareness from a public health perspective. He highlighted various support mechanisms available for patients and the role of youth and educational institutions in spreading awareness.
