Sree Anjaneya Institute of Dental Sciences observed International Women’s Day with meaningful activities aimed at promoting women’s health and well-being. As part of the celebration, an awareness session on cervical cancer and its prevention was organized for students and staff on 9 March 2026 .
The awareness session was led by Dr. Swetha from the Department of Community Medicine, Malabar Medical College and Research Centre . During the session, Dr. Swetha highlighted the importance of early detection, regular screening, HPV vaccination, and adopting healthy lifestyle practices to prevent cervical cancer. The interactive session helped participants understand the risk factors, symptoms, and preventive measures associated with the disease.
In addition to the awareness program, the Student Council organized a cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate International Women’s Day. Faculty members, students, and staff gathered to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women in society and within the healthcare field.
The event served as an opportunity to raise awareness about women’s health while also fostering a spirit of unity and appreciation within the institution.
